(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) - The Thomas More softball team took on the Hillsdale Chargers on Saturday (April, 12th) in a doubleheader. Thomas More fell in both games to the Chargers by the final scores of 6 to 1 and 3 to 0. Thomas More moves to 13-19 overall on the season and 1-11 in G-MAC play.
Game 1: Hillsdale, 6-1
- Hillsdale scored a 2 runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly and stolen base to make it 2-0.
- In the bottom of the 4th, senior Emily Allphin (New Richmond, OH / Milford) hit an RBI single to make it a one run game.
- Hillsdale added four runs in the top of the 6th to make it a 6 to 1 game.
Game 2: Hillsdale, 3-0
- Hillsdale scored the first run of the game in the top of the 5th off an RBI single.
- Hillsdale added insurance with 2 runs in the 7th inning. (3-0)
Game 1:
- Emily Allphin went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI for the Saints.
- First year Natalie Harris (Vandalia, OH / Vandalia Butler) recorded 2 hits in 2 ABs with a walk.
- First year Emma Fegan (Bargersville, IN / Roncalli) went 1 for 3 with a run scored.
Game 2:
- Sophomore Adisyn Johnson (Ross, OH / Ross) went 2 for 3 at the plate in the game.
- First year Michelle Barth (Fort Thomas, KY / Highlands) recorded a hit in the game for the Saints.
Game 1:
- Sophomore Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, OH / Kenton Ridge) got the start for the Saints. She pitched 4.0 innings and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and struck out 2.
- Sophomore Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, OH / Westfall) came on and pitched 3.0 innings. She allowed 4 runs on 5 hits and struck out 2.
Game 2:
- First year Avery Gottlieb (Ross, OH / Oak Hills) got the start and pitched 7.0 innings. She allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and struck out one.
Thomas More is back in action on Sunday (April, 13th) when they host Northwood for a doubleheader at the Thomas More Softball Field. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
