Softball Falls to Hillsdale in a Saturday Doubleheader

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) - The Thomas More softball team took on the Hillsdale Chargers on Saturday (April, 12th) in a doubleheader. Thomas More fell in both games to the Chargers by the final scores of 6 to 1 and 3 to 0. Thomas More moves to 13-19 overall on the season and 1-11 in G-MAC play.

How they scored

Game 1: Hillsdale, 6-1
  • Hillsdale scored a 2 runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly and stolen base to make it 2-0.
  • In the bottom of the 4th, senior Emily Allphin (New Richmond, OH / Milford) hit an RBI single to make it a one run game.
  • Hillsdale added four runs in the top of the 6th to make it a 6 to 1 game.
Game 2: Hillsdale, 3-0
  • Hillsdale scored the first run of the game in the top of the 5th off an RBI single.
  • Hillsdale added insurance with 2 runs in the 7th inning. (3-0)



Game 1:
  • Emily Allphin went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI for the Saints.
  • First year Natalie Harris (Vandalia, OH / Vandalia Butler) recorded 2 hits in 2 ABs with a walk.

  • First year Avery Gottlieb (Ross, OH / Oak Hills) got the start and pitched 7.0 innings. She allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and struck out one.
