Softball Drops to ODU

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon (March 29) 10-1 in game one in five innings and 12-0 in game two in five innings. The Saints overall record falls to 11-13 and 1-5 in conference.

How they scored
Game one:
  • Ohio Dominican scored one run in the first, five runs in the second, two runs in the third, and two runs in the fifth (0-10).
  • In the bottom of the fifth, junior Ashtyn Elbe scored off an error by the short stop to put the Saints on the board (1-10).
Game two:
  • Ohio Dominican scored one run in the second and 11 runs in the second (0-11).

Game one: Game two:
  • First year Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) went 2-3 at the plate.
  • Senior Emily Allphin (New Richmond, Ohio/Milford) was 1-2.
  • Sophomore Paige Stewart (Cold Springs, Ky./Campbell County) went 1-2.

Game one:
  • Sophomore Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge)  pitched 1.2 innings, allowing six runs with three earned off six hits and struck out two.
  • Sophomore Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, OH / Westfall) pitched 3.1 innings, allowing four runs with three earned off seven hits.
Game two:
  • First year Kendra Steinberg (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) pitched 1.2 innings, allowing one earned run off two hits.
  • First year Avery Gottlieb (Ross, Ohio/Oak Hills) pitched 0.2 innings, allowing six earned runs off five hits.
  • Olivia Dumm pitched 1.2 innings, allowing five runs with four earned off five hits.
  • Sophomore Becca LeMAy (Pickerington, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing no runs off one hit and struck out one.
