Pierani Records 100th Career Goal in Loss to Ashland

(CRESTVIEW HILL, KY) - The Thomas More women's lacrosse team fell to Ashland by a score of 22 to 7 on Thursday (March, 27th). Thomas More moves to 0-10 on the season and 0-1 in G-MAC play. Junior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) recorded her 100th career goal in the contest.

• Meg Pierani scored the first goal of the game for her 100th career goal, off the assist from first year Brynn Halbeisen (Cincinnati, OH / Walnut Hills).
• Ashland scored back to back goals to take the lead, and Meg Pierani answered with an unassisted goal to tie it at 2.
• Ashland scored the next 4 goals to make it a 6 to 2 game.
• Sophomore Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) scored to end the Ashland run off an assist from sophomore Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland).
• Alex Nunn answered an Ashland goal with one of her own to make it a 7 to 4 game.
• Anna Wells then answered an Ashland goal to open the second quarter with one off an assist from first year Elina Emmons (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield). (5-8)
• Ashland extended their lead into halftime with the score 16 to 5.
• Meg Pierani and Alex Nunn both scored for the Saints in the third quarter as Thomas More trailed 18 to 7.
• Ashland scored 4 more goals to make it a 22 to 7 final.

• Meg Pierani posted three goals, and 3 draw controls on the day.
• Alex Nunn recorded 2 goals, 6 ground balls, 10 draw controls and 3 caused turnovers in the contest.
• Senior Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands / Beekdal Lyceum) recorded 5 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers on the defensive side.

• Saints are back in action at Republic Bank Field on Saturday (March, 29th) when they host Tiffin. That game is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
