Softball Drops to Tiffin on the Road

(TIFFIN, Ohio)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Tiffin on Saturday afternoon (March 22) 9-1 in game one (5-innings) and 8-0 (6-innings) in game two. The Saints overall record falls to 11-11 and 1-3 in conference.


Game one: Tiffin 9-1 in 5-innings

• First year Michelle Barth (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands) singled to score first year Natalie Harris (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalia Butler) to put the Saints on the board 1-0 in the top of the fourth.
• Tiffin scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning (1-9).

Game two:

• Tiffin scored three runs in the first, three runs in the second, one run in the fourth, and one run in the sixth (0-8).

Game one:

• Senior Emily Allphin (New Richmond, Ohio/Milford) went 2-2 at the plate.
• Michelle Barth was 1-2 with one RBI.

Game two:

• First year Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) was1-2 at the plate.

Game one:

• Sophomore Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 3.2 innings, allowing nine earned runs off nine hits and struck out one.
• Sophomore Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, OH / Westfall) pitched 0.1 innings allowing no runs off one hit.

Game two:

• First year Kendra Steinberg (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) pitched 1.1 innings, allowing six runs with four earned off eight hits.
• First year Avery Gottlieb (Ross, Ohio/Oak Hills) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing two earned runs off four hits and struck out two.

The Saints return Tuesday (March 25) against Malone in Crestview Hills, KY. beginning at 2:00 pm.
