Anna Wells Posts Five Goals in Loss to Tusculum

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) - The Thomas More women's lacrosse program took on Tusculum at home on Wednesday (March, 19th). The Saints fell by a final score of 22 to 10. Thomas More is now 0-8 overall on the season.

• Tusculum opened the game with a quick goal to take the early lead.
• Sophomore Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota East) scored an unassisted goal to tie it up. (1-1)
• Junior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) recorded her first goal of the day off an assist from senior Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, OH / Lebanon) to give the Saints a lead.
• Tusculum responded with three goals to take a 4 to 2 lead.
• Anna Wells and Meg Pierani score back to back to tie the game up at 4.
• Sophomore Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) answered a Tusculum goal with one of her own to keep the game tied at 5.
• Anna Wells scores her third of the day off an assist from Gracey Robinson to give the Saints back the lead.
• Tusculum scores the next four goals to take a halftime lead of 9 to 6.
• Meg Pierani scores her third of the game to open the second half and making it a 2 goal game.
• Tusculum scored another 3 goals to make it a 12 to 7 game.
• Anna Wells scores a goal, then answers a Tusculum goal with her fifth goal of the day off an assist from Meg Pierani to make it a 13 to 9 game.
• Tusculum stretches their lead with 9 more goals. (9-22)
• First year Elina Emmons (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield) scored on a FPS to make it 22 to 10.

• Anna Wells led the Saints with 5 goals in the contest. She also recorded 3 ground balls, 4 draw controls and 4 caused turnovers.
• Meg Pierani scored 3 times on the day and added an assist.
• Gracey Robinson posted 2 assists on the day for the Saints.

• Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (March, 22nd) when they travel to Grand Rapids, MI, to take on Davenport. That match will start at 1:00 PM.
