Softball Drops Series to Lewis

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Lewis on Friday evening (Feb 28) 5-4 and 25-0 in five innings.The Saints overall record falls to 3-3.

Game 1: Lewis won 5-4
  • Lewis scored two runs in the top of the first inning.
  • First year Emma Fegan (Bargersville, Ind./Roncalli) singled to left field to score sophomore Adisyn Johnson (Ross, Ohio/Ross) in the bottom of the third inning to make it a one run game (1-2). First year Natalie Harris (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalia Butler) singled to centerfield to send in Emma Fegan to tie things up at 2-2. Senior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) walked with bases load to score junior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) to give the Saints the go ahead lead (3-2).
  • Lewis scored one run in the bottom of the fifth (3-3).
  • In the top of the fifth, Natalie Harris scored on a ground out to first hit by Josie Wefer to help the Saints regain the lead (4-3).
  • Lewis scored two runs in the top of the sixth (4-5).
Game 2: Lewis won 25-0 in 5-innings
  • Lewis scored 11 runs in the top of the first and one run in the top of the second inning (0-12).
  • Lewis scored nine runs in the top of the third and four runs in the top of the fourth (0-25).
