Anna Wells Scores Six Goals, Saints Fall to Quincy

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team fell to Quincy by a score of 24 to 10 on Saturday (February 15th). Thomas More drops to 0-2 on the season.

How they scored
  • Sophomore Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) got the scoring started with a goal to give the Saints a 1-0 lead.
  • Following four Quincy goals, Anna Wells picks up her second goal of the day unassisted. (2-4)
  • Quincy pads their lead with 2 more goals to make it 6 to 2.
  • Anna Wells scored her third and fourth goals back to back with an assist from sophomore Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) to make it a 6 to 4 game.
  • Quincy scores to make it a 3 goal game, and senior Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, OH / Lebanon) responds with a goal off an assist from Alex Nunn. This marked the 100th career point for Gracey Robinson.
  • Quincy extended their lead with 3 more goals to make it 10 to 5.
  • Alex Nunn found the net, and Anna Wells followed with two more goals to make it a two score game.
  • Quincy scored right before halftime and it is 11 to 8 at the break.
  • Junior Meg Pierani (Lawrenceburg, IN / Mercy McAuley) scored to open the second half and cutting the Quincy lead to 2.
  • Quincy scored ten straight goals make it a 21 to 9 game.
  • Gracey Robinson ended the Quincy run with an unassisted goal.
  • Quincy goes on to win 24 to 10.
 
  •  Anna Wells led the Saints in the game with 6 goals. She also tallied 2 caused turnovers and 2 ground balls.
  • Alex Nunn recorded 3 points with her goal and 2 assists. She led the Saints in draw controls with 7.

 

The Saints will return to action on Friday (Feb 21) when they travel to Romeoville, Illinois to take on Lewis. That game is set to begin at 4:00 PM.
