Football Drops to Hillsdale

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY.)-Thomas More University's football team fell to Hillsdale on Saturday afternoon (Nov 1), 24-10. The Saints overall record falls to 0-9 and 0-7 in conference play.

• Hillsdale made a field goal with 11:39 on the clock in the first quarter to put the Chargers on the board 3-0.
• With 5:33 to play in the first quarter, the Chargers scored a touchdown to extend the lead to 10-0.
• Senior Luke Iden (Taylor Mill, Ky./Scott) kicked a program record long 51-yard field goal to make it a 10-3 game with 1:59 to play in the quarter.

• Hillsdale found the end zone to open up the second quarter to put the Chargers up 17-3 with 14:14 on the clock.
• Hillsdale would score again in the second quarter with 9:00 to play in the half to put the Chargers ahead 24-3.
• Redshirt sophomore Javion Bostic (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) scored a touchdown off a throw from first year Ben Chesser (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) to cut the lead to 24-10 with 27 seconds left in the half.

 

• Ben Chesser passed for144 yards on 15 completions. He recorded on touchdown pass.
• Senior Anthony Grossnickle (Massillon, Ohio/Northwest) had 91 receiving yards off nine catches. 
• Luke Iden was 1-2 on field goals with a program long kick and recorded one extra point.
• Sophomore Tofa Luani (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had eight total tackles with four assisted and four solo. 

 
The Saints return nex Saturday (Nov 8) for their senior day against ODU in Crestview Hills, Ky. at noon.
