Women's Basketball Ends Road Trip With Loss at Findlay

(Findlay, OH) - Thomas More's womens basketball team traveled to face Findlay on Thursday night (January, 23rd). The Saints fell to the Oilers by a final score of 66 to 40. Thomas More drops to an overall record of 7-11 on the season and 4-6 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.

First Half
  • Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) got the scoring started for the Saints with a three pointer off an assist from first year Kendall Sterling (Seymour, IN / Seymour) to give the Saints a 3 to 2 lead.
  • A layup from junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) and a three pointer from junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) extends the Saint lead to four with 8:11 to go in the first quarter.
  • Rylee Turner and sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) score buckets for the Saints as we reached the under 5:00 media timeout with the Saints in front 14 to 7.
  • First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) ends the Oiler run with a bucket in the final seconds of the quarter to end the first with the Saints in front 16 to 13.
  • Rylee Turner knocks down a pair of free throws for the first points of the second quarter for Thomas More (18-15).
  • With 6:29 to go in the half, Morgan Hunt makes a layup in the paint to retake the lead for Thomas More.
  • Anna Drakeford answers an Oiler buckets with back to back layups to make it a 24 to 23 game.
  • With 2:10 to go in the half, Sereniti Webb makes a layup to cut the Oiler lead down to one.
  • Laney Baker makes a pair of free throws and Thomas More goes to the break trailing 32 to 30.
  • Thomas More shot 10-24 (41.7%) from the field, 2-12 (16.7%) from the three point line, and 8-8 (100%) from the free throw line for the half.

  • Saints trail entering the final quarter with the score 48 to 36.
  • Rylee Turner splits a pair of free throws for the first point of the final quarter for Thomas More.
  • With 2:29 to go, sophomore Sadie Foster (Mt. Orab, OH / Western Brown) makes a three pointer off an assist from Kendall Sterling for her first points of the night.
  • Thomas More falls by a score of 66 to 40.
  • Thomas More shot 13-51 (25.5%) from the field, 3-25 (12%) from three, and 11-12 (91.7%) from the free throw line in the game.
