Women's Basketball Falls to Malone on the Road

(Canton, OH) - Thomas More's womens basketball team traveled to take on Malone on Saturday (January, 18th). The Saints fell to the Pioneers by a score of 78 to 51. Thomas More moves to an overall record of 7-10 on the season, and 4-5 in G-MAC play.

• Thomas More scored first off a layup from sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) to take the early 2-0 lead.
• With 7:29 to go in the opening quarter, sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) makes a bucket to make it a 4 to 2 game.
• First year Kendall Sterling (Seymour, IN / Seymour) scores to end the first quarter as the Saints trail 17 to 6.
• Morgan Hunt scored the first points for the Saints in the second quarter on a layup to make it a 12 point game.
• Junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) scores her first points of the game to cut the Malone lead down to 10.
• Webb scores on three straight trips for the Saints as Thomas More trails with 5:22 to go in the half by 10.
• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) hits the first three of the day for Thomas More with 2:44 to go in the half.
• First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) scores her first points of the day on a layup, as Thomas More goes to the break down 43 to 28.
• Sereniti Webb led the Saints with 9 points in the half.
• Rylee Turner tallied 7 points and a team high 5 rebounds in the half.
• Thomas More shot 10-19 (52.5%) from the field, 1-6 (16.7%) from three, and 7-9 (77.8%) from the free throw line for the half.

• Anna Drake knocks down a three pointer off an assist from first year Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV / Huntington), then makes a jumper to make it a 17 point game.
• Thomas More heads to the final quarter as they trail 59 to 36.
• Junior Natalie Noel (Salem, IN / Salem) knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Kendall Sterling to open the final quarter.
• Sophomore transfer Anna Swisshelm (Felicity, OH / West Clermont) scores her first points of the game with 9:09 to go.
• Sereniti Webb and Natalie Noel add buckets for the Saints as they trail 62 to 46 with 6:20 to go.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) makes a pair of free throws with 2:38 to go.
• Thomas More shot 17-35 (48.6%) from the field, 3-12 (25%) from three and 14-21 (66.7%) from the free throw line for the game.

• Sereniti Webb led the Saints with 13 points in the ball game. She also tallied a rebound, assist and block.
• Rylee Turner led the team in rebounding with 5, she also added 9 points.
• Anna Drakeford and Natalie Noel each added 7 points for the Saints off the bench.
