Three Saints Record Double Figures as Saints Down the Storm

(Painesville, OH) - Thomas More's womens basketball team traveled to take on Lake Erie on Thursday (January 16th). Thomas More defeated the Storm by a final score of 56 to 48. Thomas More improves to an overall record of 7-9 on the season and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 4-4.

• Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) got the scoring started for the Saints with a layp to make it 2 to 0.
• With 8:22 to go in the opening quarter, junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) converts on an and-one to push the Saints in front by three.
• With 6:46 to go in the first, sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) scores her basket of the game to make it a 9 to 4 score.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) makes a layup and Morgan Hunt knocks down a triple to put the Saints in front 14 to 4.
• With 3:47 to go in the quarter, sophomore Anna Swisshelm (Felicity, OH / West Clermont) makes a layup to extend the lead to 12.
• Thomas More leads 18 to 9 after the first quarter.
• Rylee Turner hits a three pointer to score the first TMU points of the second quarter to make the score 21 to 12.
• With 4:59 to go in the half, junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) makes a jumper to push the lead back over double digits.
• Sereniti Webb and Desiree Tandy score back to back layups to make it a 30 to 19 game.
• Thomas More leads at the half by a score of 31 to 23.
• Thomas More shot 11-29 (37.9%) from the field, 2-9 (22.2%) from the three point line, and 7-9 (77.8%) from the free throw line for the half.

• Morgan Hunt finds Sereniti Webb for a jumper to get the Saints started in the second half.
• With 7:40 to go in the third, Morgan Hunt hits a three pointer to make it a 37 to 27 game.
• With 5:12 to go in the third, junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, OH / Wheelersburg) makes a layup to extend the Saint lead to 13.
• Anna Swisshelm and Rylee Turner make back to back buckets to extend the Saint lead late in the third.
• Senior Callie Hunt (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) scores her first points of the night off an assist from Morgan Hunt.
• Morgan Hunt scores the final 3 points for the Saints in the quarter, and Thomas More leads 50 to 40.
• First year Kendall Sterling (Seymour, IN / Seymour) knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Morgan Hunt for the first points of the final quarter for the Saints.
• With 3:50 to go, Rylee Turner makes a jumper to give the Saints a 55 to 43 lead.
• Thomas More wins 56 to 48.

• Sereniti Webb recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the game.
