Women's Basketball Wins at Cedarville Behind Turner's Career High

(CEDARVILLE, OH)- Thomas More University women's basketball team took on Cedarville on the road on Thursday (Feb. 1) evening. The Saints defeated Cedarville by a score of 87 to 68. Thomas More improves to an overall record of 13-7 and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 9-4. 

First Half
  • First year Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) got the Saint started with a put back to give Thomas More the early lead (2-0).
  • With 6:54 to go in the opening quarter sophomore Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) makes a layup and gets fouled to tie the game (5-5).
  • Senior Mattison Vickers (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) and senior Kelly Brenner (Cincinnati, OH / Roger Bacon) knock down back to back three pointer to put the Saints back in front (11-8).
  • Mattison Vickers makes back to back buckets for the Saints to extend their lead to seven (15-8).
  • Kelly Brenner gives the lead back to the Saints in the second quarter with her second three pointer of the game (20-18).
  • Senior Alex Smith (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) and Rylee Turner make layups to extend the Saint lead midway thru the quarter (24-20).
