Huskies Defeat Saints in Day Two of the Midwest Region Tip-off

(WISCONSIN BELLS, Wis.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to Michigan Tech on Saturday afternoon (November 9), 73-59. The Saints overall record falls to 0-2.

First Half
  • First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) put the Saints on the board with a layup to put the Saints within one with 8:52 to play in the first quarter (2-3).
  • Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) made a layup with 1:45 in the first quarter to make it a 8-16 game.
  • The Saints trailed 9-19 at the end of the first quarter.
  • Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) laid in a layup for the Saints first points of the second quarter with 9:13 on the clock (11-19).
  • Anna Drakeford knocked in two free throws with 6:33 left in the half to make it a 15-22 game.
  • Laney Baker drove to the rim for a layup with 2:14 left for the Saints final basket of the half (23-31).
  • The Saints trailed 23-39 at the half.

  • Anna Drakeford kicked off the third quarter for the Saints by making a layup with 8:11 on the clock (25-39).
  • Laney Baker hit a jump shot to make it a 31-42 game with 5:27 left in the third quarter.
  • First year Kendall Sterling (Seymour, IN / Seymour) drove to the basket for a layup for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 1:25 on the clock (40-50).
  • Junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) made a layup to get things started for the Saints with 9:30 to play in the game (42-55).
  • Laney Baker hit two free throws with 4:53 remaining in the game to make it a 49-65 game. 
  • Junior Natalie Noel (Salem, IN/Salem) made a layup for the Saints final basket of the game with 1:31 left in the game (59-69).
  • The Saints fell 73-59 to Michigan Tech.
  • Sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY/Danville) recorded 11 points to lead the Saints in the second half.
  • Sereniti Webb led the team with four rebounds and had five points.
  • Laney Baker and Amara Jackson both tallied two assists each to lead the Saints in the second half.
