Four Saints Finish in Double Figures as Women's Basketball Tops Kentucky State

(Frankfort, KY) - Thomas More University's womens basketball team traveled down south to take on Kentucky State on Tuesday (November. 26th) evening. Thomas More defeated the Thorobreds by a final score of 69 to 51. Thomas More improves to 2-4 overall on the season.

•  Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) knocks down a triple off the assist from junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) to give the Saints a 3 to 2 lead.
• Following a missed layup, junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) gets a rebound and the put back to make it a 5 to 4 game.
• Following a stop Morgan Hunt finds junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, OH / Wheelersburg) for a triple in transition to extend the Saint lead to 4.
• First year Kendall Sterling (Seymour, IN / Seymour) makes her first bucket of the contest off an assist from sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) to give TMU a 12 to 6 lead at the 4:49 mark of the first quarter.
• Out of the first media timeout, Rylee Turner knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Alaina Keeney to extend the lead to 9.
• Turner then finds Alaina Keeney for her second three pointer of the night to make it an 18 to 8 game with 3:39 to go in the first quarter.
• At the end of the first quarter, Thomas More is ahead by a score of 20 to 18.
• Morgan Hunt scored the first Saint puts of quarter two on a three pointer off an assist from Alaina Keeney to make the score 23 to 20 Thomas More.
• Rylee Turner ends a four point Thorobred run with a triple off an assist from Alaina Keeney to make it a 26 to 24 lead for the Saints.
• First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) makes a pull-up jumper for her first points of the game with 1:35 to go in the half to make the score 28 to 26 Saints.
• Thomas More heads to the half trailing by a score of 30 to 29. 
• Thomas More shot 10 for 27 (37%) from the field, 6 for 14 (42.9%) from three and 3 for 4 (75%) from the free throw line in the half.
• Rylee Turner led the Saints in scoring with 8 and rebounding with 5.

• Sereniti Webb got the Saints started in the second half with a layup off an assist from Rylee Turner to make the score 32 to 31 Kentucky State.
• Webb on the next trip down the court, got fouled and made both free throws to give Thomas More the lead back.
• With 7:32 to go in the quarter, Sereniti Webb continued her scoring run with a layup off another Rylee Turner assist to make the score 35 to 32 Thomas More.
• Anna Drakeford and Rylee Turner get back to back fast break buckets to push the Saint lead to 5 with 3:22 to go in the quarter.
• Thomas More caps off a 6 point run with a jumper from Sereniti Webb to make it a 41 to 34 game.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) makes a layup on the final offensive possession of the quarter off an assist from Alaina Keeney to push the lead to 7.
• Thomas More holds a 45 ro 38 lead as the game enters the final quarter.
• Alaina Keeney scored the first Saint points of the final quarter to make it a 47 to 40 game.
• Anna Drakeford followed to extend the lead to 9 with a layup off an offensive rebound.
• Rylee Turner records her 7th assist of the game as she finds Sereniti Webb for a layup and got fouled. Webb made the free throw to make it a 52 to 42 ball game.
• Kendall Sterling makes a driving layup with 4:24 to go to make the score 54 to 46 in favor of the Saints.
• Sereniti Webb records another bucket off an assist from Anna Drakeford with 2:19 to go to make it a 57 to 48 game.
• Thomas More forces a Kentucky State timeout with 1:39 to go as Morgan Hunt drains a three pointer off an assist from Alaina Keeney to make it a 60 to 48 game.
• Thomas More converts nine free throws down the stretch and wins the game by a final score of 69 to 51.
• Thomas More shot 23 for 51 (45.1%) from the field, 7 for 18 (38.9%) from three, and 16 for 22 (72.7%) from the free throw line for the game.

• Sereniti Webb led the Saints with a season high 17 points to go with 6 rebounds.
• Rylee Turner tallied team highs in rebounds with 8 and assists with 7 to go with 10 points.
• Alaina Keeney tallied a career high 15 points to go with 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
• Morgan Hunt recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds in the contest.

• Next the Saints will host Lake Erie at the Connor Convocation Center on Thursday (December, 5th) for their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference match up of the season. That game will start at 5:30 PM.
