Women's Basketball Picks Up First G-MAC Win of the Season Over Lake Erie

Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) - Thomas More University's womens basketball team took on Lake Erie College on Thursday (December, 5th) evening in their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference match up of the season. Thomas More defeated the Storm by a score of 67 to 47. Thomas More moves to 3-4 overall on the season and 1-0 in G-MAC competition.

• Junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) got the Saints started with a layup off an offensive rebound to put the Saints out in front.
• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) scored on an assist from first year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) to extend the early lead to 4.
• Back to back buckets from sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) and Rylee Turner push the Saint run to open the game to 10.
• Anna Drakeford makes a driving layup to make the score 14 to 3 with 1:36 to go in the opening quarter.
• Thomas More finished the quarter with a 15 to 3 lead.
• Sereniti Webb picked up where she left off in the second quarter with a layup to make it a 17 to 3 game.
• With 4:53 to go in the half, Sereniti Webb finds sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) for a layup to make the score 21 to 9 in favor of the Saints.
• Rylee Turner finds Laney Baker for the first Saint triple of the night making the score 24 to 13.
• With 13 seconds to go in the half, Anna Drakeford makes a layup to send the Saints into the break with a 29 to 16 lead.
• Thomas More shot 13-28 (46.4%) from the field, 1-5 (20%) from three, and 2-6 (33.3%) from the free throw line.
• Sereniti Webb led the Saints with 10 points in the half on 5-6 shooting. She also recorded a team high 7 rebounds.
• Rylee Turner tallied 6 rebounds to go with 3 assists and 4 points.
• Laney Baker recorded 9 points in the half and two steals.

• Morgan Hunt got the Saints started in the second half with a driving layup to make it a 31 to 16 game.

• Senior Callie Hunt (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) makes a three pointer with 5:46 to go in the third to push the Saint lead to 20.
• Callie Hunt knocks down her second three of the night off an assist from Sereniti Webb to make it 46 to 21.
• Morgan Hunt scores two straight buckets to send us to the final quarter with the score 52 to 26.
• Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, OH / Wheelersburg) hits a three pointer off the assist from Rylee Turner to start the 4th quarter for the Saints.
• First year Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV / Huntington) makes a layup off the assist from Laney Baker to make it 61 to 33.
• With 3:37 to go, Jackson scores back to back buckets to make it a 65 to 38 game.
• Sophomore Sadie Foster (Mt. Orab, OH / Western Brown) scores a bucket for her first collegiate points with 23 seconds to go to make it a 67 to 47 final.
• Thomas More shot 30-62 (48.4%) from the field, 4-17 (23.5%) from the 3-pt line, and 3-10 (30%) from the free throw line for the game.

• Sereniti Webb led the Saints with 18 points in the contest. She also tallied 12 rebounds for a double double.
• Rylee Turner recorded 12 rebounds, 4 points and 7 assists in the game.
• Morgan Hunt recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds on the night.
