(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More women's volleyball team lost to the Ashland Eagles Friday night (September, 29th), three sets to zero. The Saints fall to an overall record of 1-12 and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 0-5.
- Ashland took the first set by a score of 25 to 16.
- The second set went to Ashland by a score of 25 to 13.
- Ashland took the third set and the match by a score of 25 to 20.
- Junior Jess Gearries (Avon, IN / Avon) and sophomore Emily Acito (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) led the Saints offense, each recording 8 kills in the match.
- Acito recorded 8 digs to go with her 8 kills and a solo block for a team high 9 points.
- Junior Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) tallied a team high 16 digs in the match.
- Junior setter Sam McClanahan (Georgetown, KY / Scott County) recorded 27 assists in the match along with 4 digs and a kill.
- Junior defensive specialist Ruthie Neu (Greenwood, IN / Roncalli) had 9 digs in the match.
- Junior Sydney Hilderbran (Cincinnati, OH / Lakota West) recorded 7 kills and 3 digs.
Thomas More will be back at the Connor Convocation Center tomorrow morning (Saturday, September 30th) for a matchup with the Ohio Dominican Panthers at 12:00 P.M.
