(MIDLAND, MI) – The Thomas More University women's volleyball team lost to the Northwood University Timberwolves Friday night on the road, 3-0. After the loss, the Saints are 1-10 overall and 0-3 in the G-MAC.
- Northwood took a 12-8 lead in set one.
- A pair of kills from Brenna Young (Spring Hill, TN / South Oldham) manufactured a 4-0 run to tie the set at 12-12.
- The Timberwolves used a 10-3 run to take control of the set at 22-15.
- A 4-0 Saints rally cut the lead to three, but Northwood took the set 25-20 for a 1-0 lead.
- The second set was a crazy one.
- Thomas More grabbed a 15-10 set lead after a 4-0 run that was led by four kills from four different Saints.
- A Timberwolves 8-0 flurry gave them an 18-15 advantage before both teams began to trade points.
- Northwood took it to set point at 24-21, but the Saints stayed alive and tied it at 24-24.
- The Saints had three set points down the stretch but couldn't take advantage and lost the set 31-29.
- The Timberwolves hit .353 in the final set to win 25-15 and win the match 3-0.
- Freshman Ceci Kamer (Louisville, KY / Holy Cross) had seven kills to lead the Saints.
- Junior Sam McClanahan (Georgetown, KY / Scott County) dished out 16 assists while freshman Avery Brieske (Oak Creek, WI / Oak Creek) had 14.
- Junior Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) recorded 15 digs in the match.
- Senior Kaitlyn Stivers (Louisville, KY / Eastern) and junior Ruthie Neu (Greenwood, IN / Roncalli) both had a pair of aces.
Thomas More is right back on the court tomorrow afternoon against the Hillsdale College Chargers at Noon in Hillsdale, Michigan.
