(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) – The Mid-South Conference announced their 2023 women's tennis All-Conference teams this morning and the Saints had two players named to the Second Team in first year
Alexis Covington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and sophomore
Dakota Schroeder (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe). This is the first honor for Covington and the second straight season that Schroeder has been named on the Second Team.
Covington finished 8-8 in singles play during the regular season, with a 6-7 mark in the No. 1 position and a 2-1 record at No. 2. She finished 5-5 in singles during conference play for the Saints.
She finished 10-6 in doubles play, making appearances in all three doubles spots. She went 7-3 with
Heidi Kane (Guilford, Ind./East Central), 2-2 with
Sydney Johnson (Independence, Ky./St. Henry District), and 1-1 with Schroeder. She was 7-3 in doubles during conference play.
Schroeder finished 7-5 in singles action, going 2-1 in the No. 1 slot and 5-4 at No. 2. In conference, she was 5-1 in singles. Dakota went 7-4 in doubles play in both the No. 1 (1-2) and No. 2 positions (6-2). She was 1-1 with Covington and 6-3 with
Noelia Martinez Garcia (Santander, Spain/IES Las Llamas). She was 4-1 in conference doubles action.
