#16 Men's Basketball Makes 14 Triples in Victory Over Shawnee State

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY.)- #16 Thomas More University men's basketball team defeated Shawnee State by a score of 74-57. The Saints move to an overall record of 21-6 and a Mid South Conference record of 15-6.

• Sophomore Wyatt Vieth (Burlington, Ky. / St. Henry) got the Saints started with a basket at the 18:37 mark to give the Saints an early 2-0 lead.
• With 14:20 to go in the half, redshirt sophomore Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind. / Jeffersonville) finds redshirt first year Cody Teten (Florence, Ky. / St. Henry) to cut Shawnee State's lead to 3.
• Redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky. / Campbell County) scored 5 straight Saint points, including a three pointer to tie the score at 14.
• With 7:18 to go in the half, sophomore Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind. / Lake Central) makes a basket to make the score 22-20 Shawnee State.
• Jacob Jones scores 7 straight Saint points, including a three pointer to give Thomas More a 1 point lead with 3 to go in the half.
• Redshirt sophomore Jalen Scott (Hebron, Ky. / Conner) drains back to back three pointers to extend the Thomas More lead to 7.
• Thomas More will go into the half up 33 to 28.
• Jacob Jones led the Saints with 9 first half points.
• Reid Jolly and Kyle Ross each tallied 7 first half points.
• Kyle Ross led the team with 7 first half rebounds.

• Reid Jolly got the Saints going to open the second half with a three to stretch the Saint's lead to 8.
• Redshirt sophomore Matt Smith (Charlotte, NC / Independence), get a put back dunk to continue the Thomas More run and pushing the lead to 10.
• Kyle Ross, Reid Jolly and Wyatt Vieth all hit three pointers in a 2 minute span to give the Saints a 49 to 35 lead.
• With 10 minutes to go, Jacob Jones drains his second three of the ball game to give Thomas More a 13 point lead.
• Wyatt Vieth's hot hand continued as he hit two more threes with 5 minutes to go, to make the score 62 to 52.
• Vieth makes his 4th three pointer of the half and Reid Jolly follows with a layup to push the Thomas More lead to 16 with 3 minutes to go.
• The Saints go on to win by a score of 74 to 57.
• Wyatt Vieth had 17 second half points, which included 5 three pointers.
• Reid Jolly had 10 points in the half to go with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
• Kyle Ross had 5 second half rebounds.

• Wyatt Vieth led the team with 19 total points. Also had 4 rebounds.
• Kyle Ross finished with a double double as he tallied 12 rebounds and 10 points.
• Jacob Jones finished with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
• Reid Jolly tallied 17 points and a team high 6 assists.
• The Saints made 14 threes in the ballgame.
