#16 Men's Basketball Falls to #22 Freed Hardeman

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY.)-#16 Thomas More University men's basketball team fell to #22 Freed Hardeman on Saturday afternoon (Febuary 11), 65-57. The Saints overall record falls to 20-6 and 14-6 in conference.

First Half
  • Sophomore Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) kicked things off for the Saints, driving to the rim for a layup to tie the game up at 2-2 with 19:25 on the clock.
  • With 13:35 on the clock, redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) made a jump shot to put the Saints up six (12-6).
  • Redshirt sophomore Eli Howard (Newport, Ky./New Port Central Catholic) knocked in a 3-point shot to extend the Saints lead to 23-11 with 6:56 in the first half.
  • Jacob Jones made a free throw for the Saints final point of the first half with 2:04 to play (32-21).
  • The Saints would lead 32-27 going into the locker room at the half.
  • Jacob Jones led the Saints with 11 points and one assist and had two rebounds in the first half.
  • Reid Jolly also recorded 11 points to lead the team and had four rebounds.
  • Sophomore Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) and redshirt first year Scotty Draud (Ft.Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) both led the Saints defensively in the first half with five rebounds.

  • Sophomore Wyatt Vieth (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) drained a 3-point basket to start the second half off for the Saints with 17:38 on the clock (35-31).
  • With 12:16 to play, Kyle Ross would make a jumper to put the Saints within four (37-41).
  • Jacob Jones made a jump shot with 5:46 to play to make it a 48-51 game.
  • Redshirt first year Derek Eddings (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) knocked in a 3-point basket for the Saints final basket with 12 seconds to play.
  • The Saints would fall 65-57.
