Men's Basketball Defeat Undefeated #8 Ashland

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University men's basketball team defeated undefeated #8 Ashland on Saturday afternoon (Dec 9), 79-69. The Saints overall record improves to 6-3 and 2-1 in conference. 

• Junior Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) drove to the rim for a layup to put the Saints on the board with 17:52 to play (2-6).
• With 11:21 to play in the first half, sophomore transfer Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket to close out the Saints 12-0 run over the Eagles (17-12).
• Junior Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) made a layup with 8:03 to play in the half to extend the lead to 24-21.
• Graduate student Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) made a jump shot for the Saints final basket of the half with 38 seconds to play (35-30).
• The Saints would lead 35-33 at the half.
• Reid Jolly led the Saints with 12 points and five rebounds and had one assist. 
• Jacob Jones led with two assists and had five points and one rebound.
• Kyle Ross had seven points and two rebounds.
• The Saints were 50% (15-30) from the field, 37.5% (3-8) from the 3-point line, and 50% (2-4) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Jacob Jones drove in a layup for the Saints first basket of the half to help the Saints tie the game up at 37-37 with 18:25 to play.
• With 10:54 to play in the game, Reid Jolly knocked in a 3-point basket to tie the game up at 52-52.
• Redshirt junior Cody Teten (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) made a 3-point shot with 6:54 to plat to close out the Saints 17-0 run (62-52).
• Kyle Ross made the a free throw to secure the Saints win over the Eagles with two seconds to play (79-69).
• Reid Jolly led in the second half with 10 points and three assists and had four rebounds.
• Casey George led the team with seven rebounds and had seven points and two assists.
• First year Nathan Dudukovich (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) and Jacob Jones both tallied eight point each in the second half.
• The Saints were 46.9% (15-32) from the field, 20% (2-10) from the 3-point line, and 85.7% (12-14) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Reid Jolly led the Saints across the board with 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.
• Casey George also led the team with nine rebounds and four assists and had seven points.
• Jacob Jones recorded 13 points, two assists, and one rebound.
• Kyle Ross tallied 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
• Nathan Dudukovich had 10 points and two rebounds.
• The Saints were 48.4% (30-62) from the field, 27.8% (5-18) fromt the 3-point line, and 77.8% (14-18) from the free throw line. 

The Saints return to action on Wednesday (Dec 13) against McKendree in Lebanon, IL at 4:00 P.M.
