(HAMMOND, IN)- The Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to #8 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday (November, 11th) by a score of 69 to 59. The Saints move to an overall record of 1-1 on the season.
- Senior Rachel Martin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) got the Saints started with a layup to make it 2-0 Thomas More to open the game.
- A jumper from senior Alex Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) cut into the Bulldogs league to make it an 11-6 ball game.
- Saints trailed after the first quarter by a score of 17 to 6.
- Senior Maggie Jones (Piner, Ky./Simon Kenton) opened the second quarter for the Saints with a jumper with an assist from first year Rylee Leonard (Sardinia, Ohio/Eastern Brown) to make it 17 to 8.
- Jones would go on to score the first six points of the quarter to make it a 17 to 12 game.
- Midway thru the second quarter, Alex Smith knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Rachel Martin to make it a five point game.
- First year Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) scored her first career point on a free throw with a minute to go in the half. (22-28)
- At the half the Saints trailed 32 to 22.
- The Saints were 8 for 24 from the field for the half.
- Maggie Jones hit a three pointer to get the Saints going in the second half off an assist from Alex Smith. (25-32)
- Sophomore Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) scored off a Rachel Martin assist to make it a seven point game. (29-36)
- A three pointer from senior Mattison Vickers (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) stopped a Bulldog scoring run with a minute to go in the third. (39-50)
- Rachel Martin gets a steal and finds Vickers for a layup as time expires in the third quarter. (42-52)
- Maggie Jones got fouled on a made basket and converted the free throw to get the Saints on the board in the 4th. (45-54)
- A pair of free throws from Rylee Turner and a junior Callie Hunt (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) layup makes it a 7 point game. (49-56)
- Saints convert six consecutive free throws from Turner, Smith and Martin to make it a 9 point game. (55-64)

- Maggie Jones led the Saints with 16 points. She shot 4-11 from the field and 1-3 from the 3 point line. She went a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line.
- Alex Smith scored 11 points to go with 2 assists and 3 rebounds. She was 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
- Rachel Martin recorded a team high 5 assists and 5 steals to go with 6 points and 3 rebounds.
- Mattison Vickers recorded a team high 4 rebounds in the game to go with her 7 points and a steal.
- The Saints made 26 of their 30 free throws in the contest.

The Saints return to action on Tuesday (November, 14th) when they travel to Wheeling, West Virginia to face off against Wheeling University. That game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
