Men's Basketball Falls to Drury in Season Opener

(BOLIVAR, MO.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell to Drury on Friday evening (Nov 10) 73-70 in the Saints DII and season opener. The Saints overall record falls to 0-1.

• Junior Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) drove to the basket for the Saints with 18:20 on the clock, for their first Division II basket (2-2).
• Graduate student Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) made a floater to tie the game up at 6-6 with 15:25 to go in the first half.
• Jacob Jones would knock in a floater to put the Saints within six with 5:09 on the clock (17-22).
• Junior Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) would make a layup for the Saints final basket of the half to make it a 28-33 game going into the locker room at the half.
• Reid Jolly led the Saints with 11 points and had one rebound.
• Kyle Ross followed with nine points and one rebound.
• Jacob Jones tallied six points and led the team with three assists.
• Sophomore transfer Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and first year Nathan Dudukovich (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) both led the team with two rebounds.
• The Saints were 48% (12-25) from the field, 16.7% (1-6) from the 3-point line, and 37.5% (3-8) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Nathan Dudukovich drained his first collegiate 3-point basket to kick off the scoring for the Saints in the second half with 16:39 to play (31-39).
• First year Carson Browne (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) made a layup for his first collegiate basket with 14:39 on the clock to make it a 35-43 game.
• Jacon Jones would make drive to the rim for a layup to put the Saints within four with 12:52 to play (40-44).
• With 1:25 to play Reid Jolly would put in a layup to make it a one point game (66-67).
• Kyle Ross made a layup with 41 seconds left to give the Saints the lead, 70-69.
• The Saints would come up short and fall 73-70.
• Jacob Jones would lead the team with 11 points and six rebounds in the second half.
• Reid Jolly had five points and five rebounds.
• Kyle Ross would tally seven points and three rebounds.
• Junior Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) led the Saints with three assists in the second half.
• The Saints were 41.8% (14-34) from the field, 50% (5-10) from the 3-point line, and 52.94% (9-17) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Jacob Jones led the Saints across the board with 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
• Reid Jolly also led with 16 points and six rebounds.
• Kyle Ross tallied 16 points to lead the team as well and had four rebounds.
• Casey George had three assists to lead the team.
• The Saints were 44.1% (26-59) from the field, 37.5% (6-16) from the 3-point line, and 52.2% (12-23) from the free throw line.

The Saints return to action tomorrow (Nov 11) against Southwest Baptist at 7:30 P.M. ET in Bolivar, MO.
