Saints Drop 4 Set Match at Kentucky Wesleyan

(OWENSBORO, KY) – The Thomas More women's volleyball team lost to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday (October, 7th), three sets to one. The Saints fall to an overall record of 1-15 and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 0-8.

 

• Kentucky Wesleyan took the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-23.
• Thomas More took the third set 25 to 23.
• Kentucky Wesleyan finished the match with a 25-22 win.

 

• Junior Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) led the Saints with 23 digs in the match.
• Sophomore Ebony Gomez (Merida, Venezuela / Colegio Salesiano San Luis) led the Saints offense with 8 kills in the match along with 4 blocks.
• Sophomore Brenna Young (Spring Hill, TN / South Oldham) and junior Jess Gearries (Avon, IN / Avon) each recorded 7 kills in the match.
• First year Avery Brieske (Oak Creek, WI / Oak Creek) led the team in assists with 18 in the match.
• First year Bekah Klinedinst (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) tallied a double double with 12 assists and 14 digs.
• Sophomore Emily Acito (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) recorded 5 kills and 14 digs.

 

Thomas More will be back in action next weekend on Friday and Saturday (October 13th-14th) when they compete in the Conference Crossover Tournament. Game times and opponents are to be determined.
