(HAMMOND, IN.) – The Thomas More women's volleyball team are competing this weekend at the annual conference Crossover Tournament. The Saints took on Southwest Baptist and Drury on Friday (October, 13th) afternoon. The Saints dropped to Southwest Baptist 3-0 in the morning session, and came back to top Drury in five sets, 3-2 in the night cap. The Saints move to an overall record of 2-16 on the season.

Match 1:
- Junior Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) led the Saints defense by recording 16 digs.
- Sophomore Ebony Gomez (Merida, Venezuela / Colegio Salesiano San Luis) led the team with 8 kills in the match.
- Sophomore Emily Acito (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) and junior Sydney Hilderbran (Cincinnati, OH / Lakota West) each recorded six kills in the match.
- First year setters Bekah Klinedinst (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) and Avery Brieske (Oak Creek, WI / Oak Creek) recorded 16 and 12 assists in the match.
Match 2:
- Emily Acito led the Saints with 15 kills. She also recorded 10 digs in the match.
- Ebony Gomez tallied 13 kills to go along with a block and 2 digs.
- Sophomore Brenna Young (Spring Hill, TN / South Oldham) recorded 12 kills, 2 blocks and 3 digs in the contest.
- Avery Brieske let the team in assists with 29 to go with 11 digs and a team high 6 service aces.
- Bekah Klinedinst recorded a double double with 14 assists and 16 digs which was a team high.
- Asia Ferrando recorded 14 digs and 9 assists in the match.
- Junior Torri Wurtz (Campbell County, KY / Holy Cross) tallied 8 kills in the match.
- Junior Ruthie Neu (Greenwood, IN / Roncalli) recorded 12 digs in the contest.
Thomas More concludes the Crossover Tournament tomorrow (October 14th) when they take on William Jewell College. That game is set to begin at 10:00 AM.
