(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More women's volleyball team defeated the Tiffin Dragons on Tuesday (October, 24th) night by a score of 3 sets to 1. The Saints move to 4-18 overall on the season and 2-9 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
- Thomas More took the opening set 25 to 21.
- Tiffin evened the match by winning set two 25 to 17.
- The Saints took set three 25 to 21.
- Thomas More closed out the match with a set four win by a score of 25 to 19.
- Sophomores Ebony Gomez (Venezuela / Colegio Salesiano San Luis) and Brenna Young (Spring Hill, TN / South Oldham) led the way for the Saints offensively with 10 kills a piece. Gomez also recorded 2 blocks.
- Junior libero Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) tallied 33 digs in the match which led the Saints. She also had a service ace and three assists.
- First year setter Avery Brieske (Oak Creek, WI / Oak Creek) recorded 21 assists in the match, along with 5 digs, 2 kills and a service ace.
- First year setter Bekah Klinedinst (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) tallied 19 assists and 12 digs in the match. She also recorded a kill and a service ace.
- Sophomore Emily Acito (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) recorded a team 8 kills in the match to go with her 10 diggs and 2 solo blocks.
Thomas More will be back in action on Friday night (October, 27th) when they travel to Findlay, Ohio to take on the Findlay Oilers. That match is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
