(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More women's volleyball team defeated the Malone Pioneers on Saturday (October, 21st) evening three sets to two. The Saints move to 3-18 overall on the season and 1-9 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The victory marks the first G-MAC win in program history as the Saints began NCAA Division II play this fall.
- Malone took the opening set by a score of 26 to 24.
- Thomas More bounced back and won set two 25 to 21.
- Set three resulted in a Thomas More win, 25 to 21.
- Malone forced set five following a 25 to 18 win in set four.
- Saints took the final set and the match by a score of 15 to 7.
- Sophomore Emily Acito (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) recorded a team high 22 kills in the match, along with 17 digs, one block and a service ace.
- Junior libero Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) tallied 23 digs in the match which led the Saints. She also had 14 assists.
- First year setter Avery Brieske (Oak Creek, WI / Oak Creek) recorded 34 assists in the match, along with 10 digs and 2 kills.
- Sophomore Ebony Gomez (Venezuela / Colegio Salesiano San Luis) tallied 15 kills and a block in the match.
- First year setter Bekah Klinedinst (Trenton, OH / Edgewood) tallied 19 assists and 13 digs in the match.
Thomas More will be back in action on Wednesday, October 24th. When they host Tiffin at the Connor Convocation Center. That match is set to begin at 6:00 PM.
