#10 Men's Basketball Come up Short to UT Southern

(PULASKI, Tenn.)-#10 Thomas More University men's basketball team fell to UT Southern on Saturday (January 14), 80-74. The Saints overall record falls to 14-4 and 9-4 in conference.
  • Redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) hit a jump shot with 19:41 on the clock to kick off the scoring for the Saints (2-0).
  • Redshirt junior Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) drained a 3-point basket to put the Saints up by one with 13:07 to play in the first half (14-13).
  • Sophomore Kyle Ross (St. John/Ind./Lake Central) drove to the rim for a layup to tie the game up with 3:58 on the clock (31-31).
  • Reid Jolly made the final basket of the first half with 1:36 to play and extend the Saints lead to 38-35 going into the locker room at the half.
  • Reid Jolly led the Saints with eight points in the first half.
  • Noah Pack also tallied eight points to lead the team and recorded three rebounds and one assist.
  • Casey George had seven points and two rebounds.
  • Kyle Ross led the Saints defensively in the first half, bringing down four rebounds. He also had six points and one assist.
  • Sophomore Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) and redshirt first year Derek Eddings (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) both led the team with two assists.
  • The Saints were 57.7% (15-26) from the field, 40% (4-10) from the 3-point line, and 100% (1-1) from the free throw line in the first half. 
  • Sophomore Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) made a jump shot to start off the scoring for the Saints in the second half with 18:15 to play (40-39).
  • With 11:54 to play, sophomore Wyatt Vieth (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) knocked in a 3-point shot to help the Saints regain the lead (52-51).
  • Reid Jolly made a jump shot with 6:02 to play, to put the Saints within one (60-61).
  • Casey George made the Saints final basket of the game with 1:06 to play (74-76).
  • The Fire Hawks defeated the Saints 80-74.
  • Reid Jolly led the Saints with 10 points and had one rebound and one assist.
  • Casey George followed with nine points and led the Saints with three rebounds.
  • Wyatt Vieth had eight points and two rebounds.
  • Noah Pack had three rebounds and two assists to lead the Saints in the second half and had seven points.
