Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Saints Score Late; Drop Close Matchup To Campbellsville

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More University women's soccer team fell to Campbellsville University Friday night 3-2. The Tigers were receiving votes to be ranked in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll. 

How they scored
  • The Tigers took a 2-0 lead early on in the first half off goals from Lina Berrah (5th minute) and Agatha Nimene (20th minute). 
  • In the second half, Sydney Rhodes netted her second goal of the season in the 52nd minute off an assist from Emilia Geren and Ainsley Clark
  • The Tigers would put one more in the back of the net on a beautiful free kick from Angeline Kieh in the 64th minute to go back up two goals at 3-1.
  • Brooke Breaker scored in the 89th minute as the Saints frantically tried to tie the game late, but were unable to do so. This was Breaker's second goal of the season.
Notables
  • Eva Kinwel and Ryann Meddings both assisted on the Breaker goal. Meddings now has eight assists while Kinwel has two. 
  • Geren recorded her first assist while Clark had her second.
  • Thomas More outshot the Tigers in the second half 6-4 and bested them 6-2 in overall corner kicks. 
  • Lauren Welsh made a season-high six saves.
  • Lauren Laake and Kinwel both recorded a shot on goal.

The Saints fall to 7-2-2 this season and 2-2 in the Mid-South Conference. Thomas More will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon against Bethel (Tenn.) in a MSC matchup at 1:00 p.m. The Saints bested the Wildcats last season, 3-1.
