Big Day from Mohs, Harsveld van der Veen, and Meddings Help Saints Win Over RV Bethel

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)- Thomas More University women's soccer team defeated RV Bethel (Tenn.) on Wednesday (October 5) afternoon 4-3. The Saints overall record improves to 8-2-2 and 3-2 in conference.
How they scored
  • With only three minutes into the game, first year Olivia Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) found the back of the net off a deflection from first year Emilia Geren (Mason, Ohio/Mason) to put the Saints on the board 1-0.
  • Junior transfer Sterre Harsveld van der Veen (Utrecht, Netherlands/USG) scored off a penalty kick with 19:17 to play in the first half to extend the Saints lead to 2-0.
  • In the 60th minute, Mohs would find the goal again off a free kick from junior Ryann Meddings (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield)  to make it a 3-0 game.
  • Harsveld van der Veen scored in the 69th minute off a double assist from junior Brooke Breaker (Ross, Ohio/Ross) and Meddings (4-0).
  • Bethel's Ainhoa Chirivella assisted by Nathalie Rojas would score in the 81st minute to make it a 4-1 game.
  • Bethel's Nathalie Rojas would follow in the 84th minute to cut the Saints lead to 4-2.
  • Bethel's Johanna Veldhuizen scored off a penalty kick in the 87 minute to put the Wildcats within one (4-3).
