Baseball Takes Down Miami-Hamilton on the Road

Hamilton, Ohio - The baseball program at Thomas More traveled to Hamilton, Ohio to take down Miami-Hamilton by a score of 10-2 on Tuesday, March 22. With the win the Saints improve to 15-9 on the season.

• Senior Aiden Reverman (West Chester, Ohio / Lakota West) got the game started by hitting a double to score Brady Baldock (Burlington, Ky. / St. Henry) from third to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

• First Year Gavin Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, Ohio / St. Xavier) singled RBI with Reverman advancing to third and Brett Benzinger (Taylor Mill, Ky. / New Richmond) scoring making the lead (2-0) in the top of the second inning.

• Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, Ohio / St. Xavier) flew out on a SAC , RBI allowing Benzinger to score in the top of the 4th making the lead (3-0).

• Senior Casey Nowak (Burlington, Ky. / Covington Catholic) hit a double RBI in the top of the fourth with Reverman scoring a run making the lead (4-0).

• Vogelgesang singled RBI with Benzinger to score in the top of the seventh taking the lead (5-0).

• Miami-Hamilton answered back with a fly out SAC, RBI making the score (5-0) in the bottom of the seventh.

• Miami-Hamilton would score once more with a double RBI trailing (5-2) in the bottom of the seventh.

• Jacob Caruso, a junior (Rootstown, Ohio / Rootstown) scored Bailey Martin (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) off a double RBI, extending the lead (6-2) in the top of the eighth inning.

• Noah Weingartner (Cincinnati, Ohio / La Salle) grounded a hit to third advancing AJ Enginger (Hamilton, Ohio / Badin) to score, pushing the lead to (7-2) in the top of the eighth.

• Benzinger scored Caruso off an error by Miami-Hamilton's third baseman making the lead (8-2) in the eighth.

• Miami-Hamilton walked Nowak giving Thomas More an unearned score with the bases loaded advancing the lead (9-2) in the eighth.

• Thomas More would score once more on a single RBI from Weingartner scoring Bailey Martin making the lead (10-2) in the top of the ninth.

• Martin went three-for-six from the dish with two scored runs in the game.

• Reverman went three-for-three at the plate scoring one run and one RBI.

• Vogelgesang hit in two out of three at bats and added three RBI to the team's win.

• Graduate Kyle Fieger (Ft. Mitchell, Ky. / Beechwood) pitched a complete game of all nine innings allowing two runs on seven hits.

 Baseball will play a series against Wright State-Lake on saturday, March 26 at Thomas More University at 12:00 PM E.T.
