#2 Men's Basketball Come Out of the Saint Francis Fighting Saints New Year's Classic Undefeated

(JOLIET, Ill.)-#2 Thomas More University men's basketball team defeated Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon in the Saint Francis Fighting Saints New Year's Classic, 85-72 to come out of the Classic undefeated. The Saints overall record improves to 12-2.0
  • Redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) knocked in two free throws to kick off the Saints 15-0 run to start the game off with 19:19 on the clock.
  • Sophomore Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) would make a jump shot with 10:20 to play in the first half to extend the Saints lead to 19-5.
  • With 5:50 to play in the half, redshirt junior Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) drove to the rim for a basket to make it a 26-13 game.
  • Junior Riley Haubner (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) made a layup and one for the final points of the first and give the Saints a 10-point lead going into the locker room at the half (40-30).
  • Casey George led the Saints in the first half with 16 points and had two rebounds.
  • Noah Pack led the team defensively with four rebounds and put up seven points and had two assists.
  • Reid Jolly recorded four rebounds and three assists to lead the Saints in the first half and had four points.
  • Sophomore Wyatt Vieth (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) had six points, three rebounds, and one assist.
  • The Saints were 51.7% (15-29) from the field, 50% (5-10) from the 3-point line, and 62.5% (5-8) from the free throw line in the first half.
