#2 Men's Basketball Gets Past Bethel in OT behind 31 Points From Jolly

(MCKENZIE, Tenn.) - #2 Thomas More University men's basketball defeats Bethel, 84-81 in Overtime on Saturday afternoon (December 17th). The Saints overall record improves to 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the Mid South Conference. 

• Sophomore Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind. / Jeffersonville) got the Saints started with a layup off an assist from redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky. / Campbell County) to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.
• After four point wildcat run, Jacob Jones scores three straight points to give Thomas More a 5 to 4 lead.
• A pair of free throws and a bucket from Reid Jolly make the score 11 to 9 in favor of Bethel.
• A three pointer from sophomore Wyatt Vieth (Burlington, Ky. / St. Henry), assisted by Reid Jolly makes the score 13 to 12 Bethel.
• Sophomore Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) tied the game up at 14 with a bucket with 12 minutes to go in the half.
• A pair of free throws from Reid Jolly gave the Saints a 16 to 14 lead.
• Casey George ends the Bethel run with a bucket to make the score 20 to 18.
• Reid Jolly makes a bucket and is followed with a basket from sophomore Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind. / Lake Central) to keep the score tied at 22.
• After trading baskets, Casey George gets a layup to tie the game back up at 24.
• Reid Jolly scores three straight Thomas More points to tie the game at 27 with 3 minutes to go.
• Wyatt Vieth gives the Saints a three point lead with a three pointer off an assist from Casey George.
• Vieth hits his second straight three pointer to push the Thomas More lead to 6.
• Thomas More takes the lead into the half by a score of 33 to 32.
• Reid Jolly led the Saints with 11 points at the half along with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
• Wyatt Vieth had 9 rebounds and 6 assists at the break.

• Kyle Ross gives the lead back to Thomas More with a bucket off a Casey George assist. Score 50 to 49 Saints.

• The Saints go on to win by a score of 84 to 81.

The Saints return to the court on Thursday (December 29) as the Saints travel to play in the Saint Francis Classic in Joliet, Illinois. Thomas More will face the host Saint Francis at 2:00 PM ET.
