#2 Men's Basketball Defeat Miami-Hamilton in Home Opener

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY.)-#2 Thomas More University men's basketball team defeated Miami-Hamilton in their home opener on Tuesday evening (November 8), 67-61. The Saints overall record improves to 2-0.
First Half
  • Redshirt junior Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) kicked things off for the Saints, driving to the rim for a layup with 19:45 to play in the first half (2-0).
  • With 15:24 on the clock, sophomore Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, Ky./Saint Henry) drained a 3-point basket to give the Saints the lead (10-8).
  • Redshirt first year transfer Scotty Draud (Fort Mitchell. Ky./Beechwood) made a layup to extend the Saints lead to 21-15 with 9:39 to play in the first half.
  • Redshirt junior Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) would drive to the basket for the Saints final basket of the first half with 4:23 to go (29-24).
  • The Saints would trail 29-33 going into the locker room at the half.
  • Reid Jolly would lead the team with eight points and had three rebounds and an assist.
  • Noah Pack recorded four rebounds to lead the Saints and had five points and an assist.
  • Wyatt Vieth led the Saints with two assists and tallied six points and two rebounds.
  • Redshirt sophomore Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) also had two assists to lead the team.
  • The Saints were 44% (11-25) from the field, 45.5% (5-11) from the 3-point line, and 33.3% (2-6) from the free throw line in the first half.
Second Half
  • Jacob Jones scored the Saints first basket of the second half with 19:02 on the clock to make it a two point game (31-33).
  • Wyatt Vieth would make a 3-point shot to help the Saints regain the lead with 15:07 to play in the game (38-37).
  • With 9:07 to play, Reid Jolly would make a jump shot to extend the Saints lead to 49-44.
  • Wyatt Vieth would drain two free throws to secure the Saints 67-61 win over Miami-Hamilton.
  • Wyatt Vieth would lead the Saints in the second half with 14 points and tallied two rebounds and an assist.
  • Reid Jolly would follow with 13 points and led the Saints, bringing down seven rebounds and had two assists. 
  • Jacob Jones had seven points, one rebound, and one assist.
  • Noah Pack had four rebounds. 
  • The Saints were 50% (11-22) from the field, 36.4% (4-11) from the 3-point line, and 70.6% (12-17) from the free throw line in the second half.

  • Reid Jolly led the Saints across the board with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists to record back to back double double games. 
  • Wyatt Vieth followed with 20 points and four rebounds and also led the team with three assists.
  • Jacob Jones tallied three assists to lead the team and had seven points and two rebounds.
  • Noah Pack recorded six points, eight rebounds, and two assists. 
  • The Saints were 46.8% (22-27) from the field, 40.9% (9-22), and 60.9% (14-23) from the free throw line.
