Box Score (Bowling Green, Ky.) - The baseball program at Thomas More fell to Georgetown by a score of 5-0 in the semifinals of the second chance bracket in the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Saturday (May 8). With the loss the Saints end their 2021 campaign with a 25-28 overall record.
- The Tigers added three of their runs in the third, one in the fifth, and one in the eighth.
- Sophomore catcher Jacob Caruso (Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown) tallied one of the two hits on the day for TMU, with a single in the second inning.
- Sophomore shortstop Brett Benzinger (Taylor Mill, Ky./New Richmond) recorded one hit in three plate appearances with a single in the sixth inning.
- First-year Hunter Nantz (London, Ky./North Laurel) pitched three innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four.
- First-year Zach Dugan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) threw three innings allowing one run on four hits.
- First-year Landen Scott (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) allowed one run on two hits in two innings pitched.
Thomas More baseball is over for the 2021 season. The Saints will lose seniors Tyler Flick (Okeana, Ohio/Ross), Ty Grimes (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg), Drew Huffman (Hamilton, Ohio/Ross), Mitchell Morris (Rising Sun, Ind./Rising Sun), and Brady Reynolds (White Oak, Ohio/Lasalle) and we wish them the best in all of their future endeavors.
