Box Score (Crestview Hills, Ky.) - The baseball program at Thomas More University picked up their first ever Mid-South Conference sweep over the weekend, after defeating Martin Methodist 7-3 in game three.
- Thomas More would jump on the board early as Bailey Martin (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) scored on a sacrifice fly to left field by the first baseman Derek Atwood (Burlington, Ky./Conner), making the score 1-0 TMU after one inning of play.
- The RedHawks would plate a run in the top of the third to tie things up at one all.
- The Saints scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth as Atwood, Cooper Daniels (Franklin, Ohio/Franklin), and Brady Baldock (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) would all cross the plate giving Thomas More a 4-1 lead after four.
- TMU would once again score three runs in an inning as Baldock, Tyler Flick (Okeana, Ohio/Ross), and Brett Benzinger (Taylor Mill, Ky./New Richmond) came around to score, to make the lead 7-1 in Thomas More's favor.
- Martin Methodist would tally a run in the 7th and in the 9th, to make the final score 7-3.
- Atwood went 1-3 at the plate driving a run in while crossing the plate himself.
- Baldock was 1-3 with two runs scored and one rbi.
- Flick went 1-4 with an rbi and a run scored.
- Brady Reynolds (Whiteoak, Ohio/Lasalle) batted 1-3 with an rbi.
- First-year pitcher Landen Scott (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) threw six innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out three.
- First-year Mason Berger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) pitched two innings allowing one run on one hit and striking out three.
- Sophomore Mitch Mierke (Milford, Ohio/Milford) allowed one run on two hits and struck out two in one inning of relief.
Baseball will look to continue its momentum to the weekend as they will face off against Concordia (Mich.) at home on March 13, first pitch is set for 12 p.m. ET.
