Box Score (JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.) – The Thomas More University baseball team fell, 5-0, to Milligan (Tenn.) College today (Saturday, February 8, 2020) on the first day of the Clash of the Conferences at the TVA Credit Union Ballpark in Johnson City, Tennessee.
- Milligan scored four runs in the fourth and one in the sixth and held Thomas More scoreless for the 5-0 victory.
- Sophomore third baseman Bailey Martin (Independence, Ky./Simon) went two-for-three with a double and a triple.
- Senior catcher Matt Wellbrock (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) was two-for-three at the plate.
- Senior pitcher Mitchell Morris (Rising Sun, Ind./Rising Sun) suffered the loss as he pitched three and a third innings and gave up four runs (all earned) on four hits and struck out two.
- Sophomore pitcher Mitch Mierke (Milford, Ohio/Milford) pitched one and two third innings of scoreless innings and gave up two hits, while striking out one.
- First-year pitcher Brevan Rivers (Selma, Ind./Wapahani) pitched one inning and gave up one run (earned) on one hit.
- The Saints' second game of the day against the University of the Rio Grande was cancelled in the third inning with the game tied 3-3 due to heavy snow.
- Thomas More will close out the Clash of the Conferences tomorrow as it play Aquinas (Mich.) College at 9 a.m. and Milligan at 3 p.m. in Johnson City, Tennessee.
