(Crestview Hills, Ky.) – The 14th ranked Thomas More women's basketball program defeated Martin Methodist College on Thursday (November 19) by a score of 87-55 improving their record to 5-0. In the process of defeating the RedHawks, the Lady Saints set a team record for most threes in a game with 17.
- Senior Briana McNutt (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) opened the scoring with 8:12 left in the first with a three-pointer cutting the RedHawks lead to 4-3.
- Sophomore Zoie Barth (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) made a three with 43 seconds remaining in the first giving TMU a 21-16 lead to close the quarter.
- Sophomore Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner) drained a three with 5:45 left on the clock in the second making the score 30-19 in favor of the Lady Saints.
- Barth would make a three-pointer with time expiring in the second to give Thomas More a 38-19 lead going into halftime.
- TMU held Martin Methodist to 3 points in the second quarter.
- Sophomore Kenzie Schwarber (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) scored 5 straight point for the Lady Saints increasing the lead to 49-22.
- First-Year Kelly Brenner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) scored her first points of the game from behind the arc with 48 seconds remaining in the third to give TMU a 66-36 lead.
- First-Year Hailie Morgan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) hit a layup off an assist from Barth with 6:40 remaining in the game giving the Lady Saints a 77-47 lead.
- Senior Kylie Anderson finished the scoring for the Saints with two free throws making the final score 87-55.
- Set team record for threes in a single game with 17
- Shot 50% from three, 51.4% from the field, and 88.9% from the free throw line.
- Sophomore Emily Simon (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) set new personal collegiate high with 11 rebounds.
- McNutt and Barth led in scoring with 14 points apiece. Barth also led in assists with a season high 8.
The Thomas More University Lady Saints will return to the court on Saturday November 21, for a matchup against Life University in the Conner Convocation Center, Opening tip is set for 1:30 p.m. ET.
