Box Score (PORTSMOUTH, Ohio) – The Thomas More University women's volleyball team defeated Shawnee State, 3-2, tonight (Wednesday, August 28, 2019) at Waller Gymnasium in Portsmouth, Ohio. It was the Saints' first-ever Mid-South Conference match.
- The Saints improve to 5-0 and 1-0 in the Mid-South, while the Bears falls to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the Mid-South.
- Thomas Moe won the match by the scores of 25-16, 25-27, 25-23, 16-25 and 15-11.
- Sophomore setter Lizzie Schoenfeld (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) tallied 27 assists and added three service aces and six digs.
- Sophomore outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with 25 kills, five digs and four blocks.
- Senior middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) had 14 kills, four blocks and four digs.
- Junior defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with 18 digs.
- Senior defensive specialist Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) added 12 digs.
- Senior middle hitter Ranna Cousin (Bowling Green, Ky./Warren Central) had seven kills.
- The Saints are idle until next Tuesday (September 3) when they host Mid-South rival Georgetown College.
- The home opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
