Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The eighth-ranked Thomas More College women's soccer team defeated 13th-ranked Aurora (Ill.) University, 1-0, today (Sunday, September 13, 2015) in a non-conference match at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 3-0-1 and with the loss, the Spartans fall to 3-2.
Sophomore forward Julia Flagg-Echols (Colerain, Ohio/Colerain) scored the lone goal of the match at the 65:10 mark off an assist from senior forward Olivia Huber (Woodlawn, Ky./Newport Central Catholic).
Junior goalkeeper Megan Barton (Florence, Ky./Villa Madonna) earned his fourth shutout of the season as she played all 90 minutes of the match and faced only three shots.
Thomas More out-shot Aurora, 17-3, including 9-0 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 9-1.
The Saints return to action on Wednesday (September 16) when they travel to Hanover, Indiana to play traditional rival Hanover College at 5 p.m.
