CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - Thomas More University men's soccer (1-0-0, 0-0-0 G-MAC) scored two goals in the first half before capping off an impressive performance with two more goals in the final 11 minutes to take down Shawnee State University (0-0-1, 0-0-0 MEC) 4-0 in Thursday night's season-opening match.
- Junior Anwar Benkandil scored the Saints' first goal of their 2026 campaign in the 36th minute with assists from graduate student Will Fox and junior Eddie Longhurst
- Senior Ramzi Termanini put Thomas More ahead 2-0 less than two minutes later with a deep shot that kissed the inside of the post, getting assists from juniors Luca Mammi and Nils Waltemode
- Fox fired a shot in from above the penalty box to make the score 3-0 Saints in the 80th minute with an assist from junior Callum Judge
- Junior Xavier Munro slotted Thomas More's fourth goal past the Bears' goalkeeper with just over five minutes to play to cap the scoring
- Sophomore goalkeeper Tim Tempel recorded a clean sheet with 2 saves for the Saints
- Benkandil tallied 6 shots with 2 on target including his goal
- Fox put 3 of his 5 shots on target including his goal
- Munro had 3 shots on net including his goal in 24 minutes
- Graduate Student Luis Viegas recorded 4 shots with a shot on target
