Saints and Eagles Split Series

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's softball team split with Ashland on Thursday (April 2), falling 2-1 in game one and winning 8-2 in game two. The Saints overall record is now 12-18 and 2-6 in conference.


Game one: Ashland won 2-1

• Sophomore Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) scored off a hit ball by senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) to make it 1-0.
• Ashland scored two runs in the fifth inning (1-2).

Game two: Thomas More won 8-2

• Ashland scored two runs in the first (0-2).
• In the bottom of the fifth, sophomore Natalie Harris (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalie Butler) scored on a bases load walk to make it a 1-2 game. Sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) hit a bases loaded triple to right center put the Saints up 4-2. Senior Sophia Thoma (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) singled to center field to send in Haylee Palmer to extend the Saints lead to 5-2.
• First year Alisha Fox (Mason, Ohio/Mason) hit a bases loaded doubled to put the Saints up 8-2.

Game one:

• Loghan Cromer went 1-3 and scored one run. 
• Sophomore Brooklynn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) was 2-3.

Game two:

• Alisha Fox went 3-3 with two doubles and three RBIs.
• Haylee Palmer was 2-4 with a triple, three RBIs, and scored two run.
• Sophia Thoma went 1-2 and had one RBI.
• Natalie Harris picked up three walks.

Game one:

• Alisha Fox pitched 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs off six hits and struck out three.

Game two:

• Junior Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Keton Ridge) pitched 5.0 innings, allowing two earned runs off seven hits and struck out one.
• Alisha Fox pitched 2.0 innings, allowing no runs off two hits.

The Saints return Saturday (April 4) at Ohio Dominican beginning at 1:00 pm ET.
