Softball Walks it Off in Game Two to Split Series with Tiffin

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's softball team split with Tiffin on Sunday (April 12), falling 15-0 in game one (5-innings) and in winning 6-5 in game two. The Saints overall record is now 17-23 and 4-10 in conference.

How they scored
Game one: Tiffin won 15-0 over Thomas More (5-innings) 
  • Tiffin scored one in the first, six in the third, and five in the fifth inning (0-15).
  • Sophomore Emma Fegan (Bargersville, Ind./Roncalli) grounded out to the short stop to send in first year Kendyl Feutz (BLoomington, Ind./Bloomington North) to make it a 15-1 game in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Game two:
  • In the bottom of the first, sophomore Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) would score on a wild pitch and Emma Fegan would score on the same play from a throwing error by the catcher to make it a 2-0 game. Sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) would score on a single through the right side hit by Natalie Harris to extend the lead to 3-0. 
  • Haylee Palmer singled up the middle in the bottom of the third to bring in Emma Fegan to extend the Saints lead to 4-0. Sophomore Brooklyn Couch (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) would step up and single to center field to send home senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) to make it a 5-0 game. 
  • Tiffin scored five runs in the sixth (5-5).
  • Emma Fegan hit an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off for the Saints (6-5).

Game one:
  • Alisha Fox pitched 3.0 innings, allowing seven runs with five earned off five hits and struck out one.
  • Junior Becca LeMay (Pickerington, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) pitched 1.2 innings, allowing eight earned runs off eight hits.
  • Sophomore Dani Oldfield (Walton, Ky./Walton Verona) pitched 0.1 innings, allowing no runs off two hits and struck out one.
Game two:
  • Junior Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio./Kenton Ridge) pitched 5.0 innings, allowing three runs with two earned off nine hits.
  • Alisha Fox pitched 2.0 innings, allowing one earned run off four hits and struck out two.
