Softball Drops to Walsh

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Walsh on Sunday (March 29), falling 7-4 in game one and 12-0 (5-innings) in game two. The Saints overall record falls to 11-17 and 1-5 in conference.

How they scored
Game one: Walsh won 7-4
  • Walsh scored two runs in the top of the second (0-2).
  • Senior Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) hit a three run home run to center field in the bottom of the third to make it a 3-2 game. First year Alisha Fox (Mason, Ohio/Mason) doubled to center field to score sophomore Haylee Palmer (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) to extend the lead to 4-3.
  • Walsh scored two runs in the top of the fifth and three runs in the top of the seventh (4-7).
Game two: Walsh won 12-0 (5-innings) 
  • Walsh scored three runs in the first, three runs in the second, one run in the third, one in the fourth, four runs in the fifth (0-12).

Game one:
  • Sophomore Loghan Cromer (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley) was 1-1 with two walks and scored one run.
  • Ashtyn Elbe went 1-3 with a home run, three RBIs, and scored one run.
Game two:

  • Alisha Fox pitched 7.0 innings, allowing seven earned runs off 13 hits and struck out three.
Game two:
  • Junior Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing three earned runs off four hits.
  • Sophomore Avery Gottlieb (Ross, Ohio/Oak Hills) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing five earned runs off nine hits and struck out two.
  • Junior Becca LeMay (Pickerington, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) pitched 0.2 innings, allowing two earned runs off two hits.
  • First year Kendyl Feutz (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) pitched 0..1 innings, allowing no runs and no hits.
