Men's Basketball Dominate Cedarville on the Road

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Cedarville, 82-62. The Saints overall record improves to 11-11 and 5-10 in conference.

• Senior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket to kick the game off with 19:46 on the clock to put the team on the board 3-0.
• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) dunked the ball in with 17:00 to play in the first half to give the Saints the go ahead lead (6-4).
• With 10:39 to play in the half, redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) banged in a 3-point shot to extend the Saints lead to 19-11.
• Sophomore Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) drove to the rim for a layup to put the Saints up 33-18 with 6:01 to play.
• Kai Simpson knocked in a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left in the half for the final basket of the game to put the Saints up 45-26 at the half.
• Kai Simpson led the team with 21 points and six assists and had two rebounds.
• Mitchell Rylee tallied five rebounds to lead the team and had 10 points.
• The Saints were 72.7% (16-22) from the field, 75% (6-8) from the 3-point line, and 70% (7-10) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Kai Simpson made a layup to start off the second half with 19:14 on the clock to make it a 47-29 game.
• Ryan Paris drained a 3-point basket to make it a 58-36 game with 16:11 to play.
• With 10:39 to play, Kai Simpson knocked in a 3-point shot to extend the Saints lead to 67-40.
• Tyler Johnson made a jumper to put the Saints up 80-52 with 3:40 remaining.
• Junior Cam McClain (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Trinity) drove to the rim for a layup for the Saints final basket of the game with 2:01 on the clock.
• The Saints would defeat the Yellow Jackets 82-62.
• Kai Simpson led the team with 15 points and two assists and had two rebounds in the second half.
• Tyler Johnson tallied five rebounds to lead the Saints and had two points and two assists.
• Ryan Paris had 12 points, three rebounds, and one assist.
• The Saints were 58.3% (14-24) from the field, 70% (7-10) from the 3-point line, and 66.7% (2-3) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Kai Simpson recorded a career high 36 points to lead the team and also had eight assists to lead the Saints and had four rebounds.
• Ryan Paris tallied 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
• Mitchell Rylee had 14 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
• Tyler Johns brought down nine rebounds to lead the team and had seven points and two assists.
• The Saints were 65.2% (30-46) from the field, 72.2% (13-18) from the 3-point line, and 69.2% (9-13) from the free throw line.

The Saints return Thursday (Feb 12) against Walsh in the CCC beginning at 7:30 pm ET.
