Men's Basketball Falls to #22 Walsh

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell to #22 Walsh on Thursday (Feb 12), 69-59. The Saints overall record falls to 11-12 and 5-11 in conference.

• Sophomore Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) made a layup to kick things off for the Saints with 19:47 on the clock to put the team up 2-0.
• With 16:11 to play in the half, senior Mtichell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) drove to the rim for a layup to put the Saints up 6-5.
• Senior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket to extend the Saints lead to 16-12 with 11:13 remaining in the half.
• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) knocked in a 3-point basket with 6:12 to play to make it a 22-20 game.
• Tyler Johnson made a layup and one for the Saints final basket of the half with 1:51 to play (29-27).
• The Saints and Cavs would be tied 29-29.
• Ryan Paris led the Saints with nine points and had one rebound in the first half.
• Kai Simpson tallied nine points and two assists to lead the team and had two rebounds.
• The Saints were 44% (11-25) from the field, 33.3% (4-12) from the 3-point line, and 100% (3-3) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Kai Simpson made a step back shot to start things off with 19:29 on the clock to make it a 31-29 game.
• Tyler Johnson knocked in two free throws to cut the Cavs lead to five (35-40) with 15:25 to play.
• Kai Simpson drove to the rim for a layup with 8:33 left in the game to make it a 45-54 game.
• With 4:15 to play, Mitchell Rylee made a turn around shot and one to cut the lead to four (54-58).
• Mitchell Rylee made the Saints final basket with 50 seconds to play (59-67).
• Mitchell Rylee led the Saints in the second half with 12 points and had two rebounds and one assist.
• Ryan Paris led the team with four rebounds and had four points.
• The Saints were 36.8% (7-19) from the field, 11.1% (1-11) from the 3-point line, and 100% (15-15) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Mitchell Rylee led the Saints with 16 points and five rebounds and had two assists.
• Kai Simpson followed with 15 points and two rebounds and led the team with three assists.
• Ryan Paris had 13 points, five rebounds to lead the team, and had one assist.
