Men's Basketball Drops to Ashland

(ASHLAND, Ohio)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell to Ashland on Thursday (Jan 5), 63-57 . The Saints overall record is 10-11 and 4-10 in conference.

• Redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgensville, Ky./Larue County) hit a jump shot to put the Saints on the board with 17:25 on the clock (2-4).
• Senior Rylee Mitchell (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) made a jump shot to make it a 6-14 game with 14:02 to play.
• Senior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) drained a 3-point basket with 11:21 to play in the half to put the Saints within five (14-19).
• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) laid a ball in to make it a four point game with 5:41 left in the half (21-25).
• Daniel Allen made the Saints final basket of the half with 2:17 remaining (26-29).
• The Saints would trail 31-26 at the half.
• Kai Simpson led with eight points, five rebounds, and two assists.
• The Saints were 30.6% (11-36) from the field, 30% (3-10) from the 3-point line, and 50% (1-2) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Daniel Allen made a pull up shot to kick off the second half with 19:16 on the clock to put the Saints within three (28-31).
• Ryan Paris knocked in a 3-point shot to tie things up at 37-37 with 15:11 to play.
• With 9:26 to play, redshirt junior Colin McHale (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) made a jumper to make it a 45-53 game.
• First year Colin McClure (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) hit a 3-point shot with 5:26  to play (54-57).
• Ryan Paris made a 3-point basket for the Saints final basket of the game with 2:24 to go (57-59).
• The Saints would fall 63-57 to the Eagles.
• Colin McClure led the Saints with nine points in the second half.
• Mitchell Rylee tallied five rebounds to lead the team.
• The Saints were 38.7% (12-31) from the field, 38.5% (5-13) from the 3-point line, and 66.7% (2-3) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Kai Simpson led the Saints with 13 points and three assists and had seven rebounds.
• Mitchell Rylee tallied nine rebounds to lead the team and had eight points and one assist.
• Ryan Paris recorded nine points and two rebounds.
• Colin McClure also tallied three assists to lead the team and had nine points.
• The Saints were 34.2% (23-67) from the field, 34.8% (8-23) from the 3-point line, and 50% (3-5) from the free throw line.
