Thomas More falls to Pioneers at home

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More University men's lacrosse team fell to Tusculum University on Saturday (Feb. 21) afternoon by a final score of 14-9. The Saints fall to 1-2 on the season.
 
How they scored
  • Thomas More scored the first goal of the game off the stick of senior James Kendrick (Springboro, OH / Springboro) with an assist from redshirt sophomore Bryce Collins (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy / Mercyhurst) at the 12:23 mark in the first quarter.
  • Tusculum scored two goals to take an early lead.
  • Sophomore Colin Scalise (Worthington, OH / Thomas Worthington) scored the second goal for the Saints. Freshman Eric Wong (Union, KY / Cooper) had the assist before the Pioneers had one more goal in the first quarter to take a 3-2 lead.
  • Within the first two minutes of the second quarter, junior Noah Koenig (Erlanger, KY / Dixie Heights) passed the ball to senior Spencer Lethbridge (Cleveland, OH / Olmsted Falls) who scored his sixth goal of the season.
  • Spencer Lethbridge had an assist later in the quarter as Bryce Collins found the back of the net with 1:36 remaining in the first half.
  • The Pioneers would take a 5-4 lead into halftime.
  • Noah Koenig and Spencer Lethbridge worked together again to score the Saints' fifth goal of the game, but this Noah Koenig got the shot.
  • Bryce Collins had his second goal of the day off the stick of Eric Wong halfway through the third quarter before Spencer Lethbridge had his second goal of the game with an assist from junior Aspen Cameron (Plain City, OH / Jonathon Alder).
  • Back-to-back goals for Thomas More by senior Graham Houser (Hilliard, OH / St. Charles) and senior Joe Mariani (Warners, NY / Mater Dei Academy / Onondaga CC) with an assist from Bryce Collins on the first goal tied the game at 9 with 10 minutes remaining.
  • Unfortunately, the Tusculum Pioneers scored five unanswered goals to end the game with the 14-9 win.
