Women's Basketball Takes Down Conference Leader Northwood

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team defeated Northwood on Thursday evening (Jan 8), 71-70. The Saints overall record improves to 12-1 and 4-1 in conference.

• Junior Morgan Hunt (Hollansburgs, Ohio/Tri-Village) banged in a 3-point shot with 7:52 on the clock to tie the game up at 3-3.
• Junior Izzy Rotert (Harrison, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) hit a jump shot to put the Saints within seven (5-12) with 4:53 to play in the quarter.
• Redshirt sophomore Rylee Leonard (Sardina, Ohio/Western Brown) knocked in two free throws to give the Saints the go ahead lead with 51 seconds left (16-15).
• The Saints trailed 16-17 at the end of the first quarter.
• Izzy Rotert made one free throw to start the scoring off for the Saints in the second quarter with 7:39 on the clock (17-21).
• With 4:50 to play in the half, senior Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) drove to the rim for a layup to tie things up 25-25.
• Senior Natalie Noel (Salem, Ind./Salem) made a layup and one to tie things up 33-33 with 45 seconds to play in the half.
• The Saints trailed 33-35 going into the locker room at the half.
• Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) led with nine points in the first half and had four rebounds.
• Izzy Rotert tallied five rebounds to lead the team and had seven points.
• The Saints were 36.7% (11-30) from the field, 33.3% (3-9) from the 3-point line, and 61.5% (8-13) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Morgan Hunt knocked in one free throw to get things started in the third quarter with 8:57 to play in the quarter (34-35).
• Junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, Ky./Danville) drove to the rim for a layup with 4:36 on the cock to make it a 40-44 game. 
• With 28 seconds remaining, Izzy Rotert made the final basket of the quarter with a layup to put the Saints down 46-54 going into the final quarter.
• Izzy Rotert made one free throw with 9:30 to play in the game to kick things off for the Saints in the fourth quarter (47-54).
• Sereniti webb tied things up 58-58 with 5:34 to play in the game with a layup.
• Izzy Rotert secured the win over the Timberwolves as time expired with a layup to give the Saints the 71-70 win.
• Sereniti Webb led the team in the second half with 13 points and had two rebounds.
• Izzy Rotert recorded five rebounds to lead the team and had nine points.
• Rylee Turner had six assists to lead the team.
• The Saints were 53.1% (17-32) from the field, 16.7% (1-6) from the 3-point line, and 50% (3-6) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Izzy Rotert led the team with a double double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
• Sereniti Webb also tallied 16 points to lead the team and had five rebounds and one assist.
• Morgan Hunt recorded 15 points and one rebound.
• Rylee Turner had six assists to lead the team and had 11 points and five rebounds.
• The Saints were 45.2% (28-62) from the field, 26.7% (4-15) from the 3-point line, and 57.9% (11-19) from the free throw line.

The Saints return Saturday (Jan 10) at 1:00 pm ET against Hillsdale in the Connor Convocation Center.
