Women's Basketball Fights Back Against the Chargers to Secure Conference Win

Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team defeated Hillsdale on Saturday afternoon (Jan 10), 69-65. The Saints overall record improves to 13-1 and 4-1 in conference.

• Senior Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) hit a jump shot to put the Saints on the board with 7:31 to play in the quarter (2-7).
• Halfway through the first quarter, junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, Ky./Danville) knocked in two free throws to put the Saints within five (4-9).
• Junior Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tr-Village) drained a 3-point basket for the final basket of the quarter with 21 seconds left (10-24).
• The Saints would trail 24-10 going into the second quarter.
• Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) made two free throws to start things off in the second quarter to make it a 12-27 game with 8:44 on the clock.
• With 6:22 left to play in the half, Morgan Hunt hit a jumper to make it a 18-29 game.
• Sophomore Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV/Huntington) drove to the rim for a layup for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 2:03 to play (30-38).
• The Saints would trail 43-30 going into the locker room at the half.
• Rylee Turner led the team with 11 points and had two rebounds in the first half.
• Junior Izzy Rotert (Harrison, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) led the team with four rebounds and had two points.
• Morgan Hunt recorded eight points and three rebounds.
• The Saints were 34.6% (18-32) from the field, 37.5% (3-8) from the 3-point line, and 90% (9-10) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Rylee Turner hit a jumper to start things off in the third quarter with 9:32 on the clock to make it a 32-43 game.
• With 2:24 to play, Izzy Rotert made a jump shot to give the Saints their first lead of the game (49-48).
• Rylee Turner made a layup and one for the final points of the quarter with 15 seconds on the clock to give the Saints a 54-51 lead going into the final quarter.
• Sereniti Webb knocked in two free throws for the the Saints first points of the fourth quarter to put the Saints up 56-53 with 8:45 to play.
• Senior Natalie Noel (Salem, Ind./Salem) drained a 3-point shot to tie things up 63-63 with 3:08 to play.
• Morgan Hunt secured the Saints win over the Chargers by knocking in two free throws with three seconds left.
• The Saints would defeat the Chargers 60-65.
• Rylee Turner led the second half with 12 points and four rebounds.
• Sereniti Webb also tallied 12 points to lead the team and three rebounds/
• The Saints were 51.9% (14-27) from the field, 28.6% (2-7) from the 3-point line, and 81.8% (9-11) from the free throw line in the second half.

• RyleeTurner led the Saints with 23 points and three assists and had six rebounds.
• Sereniti Webb followed with 14 points, three rebounds, and one assist.
